He completed his M.Ch in Surgical Gastroenterology at Madras Medical College and gained extensive experience in surgically treating gastrointestinal diseases, with a particular focus on cancers.

Driven by clinical needs, he acquired skills in interventional endoscopy in 2002, amassing over 15 years of expertise in this specialized field. He continues to perform intraoperative endoscopies to aid in the planning and assessment of cancer surgeries.

Due to a shortage of interventional radiologists, he pioneered image-guided interventions for draining liver abscesses, abdominal fluid collections, and percutaneous biliary procedures, enhancing patient care through innovative surgical interfaces.

Since 2001, he has significantly advanced the management of acute pancreatitis and its complications, refining individual care elements to achieve favorable outcomes and prevent complications. This journey propelled his focus towards treating pancreatic diseases and conducting research into the resuscitation of acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer.

He underwent a Multiorgan Transplant Fellowship accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) at the University of Pittsburgh.

Additionally, he pursued specialized training in microvascular surgery at the Columbia University Microsurgical Department in New York City. This training enables him to offer advanced care to pediatric patients with liver disease who may require transplantation.
